Cant get internet connection over wireless network?

i came home today to find my laptop has no internet connection, but it easily connects to my wireless network, i called my isp custommer support and i find that the only way i get a connection is a directly wired one from my modem, wich is pretty inconvenient, its not just my laptop that cant connect, as my other one cannot either, i have tried resetting my router as well as trying a completly different wireless router and i have the same issue with both, is something scetchy going on with my computers? or am i really that unlucky to be in possesion of 2 routers that broke down at the exact same time o.o

If it's cable intrnet service, you need to power cycle the cable modem everytime your connect it to different device.
