Cant get internet to work on my computer

Ive plugged the ethernet cable into the lan port and installed the drivers but i still cant get internet and its not the cable because Ive used it on my laptop all the time without a problem and when i try to put it in it doesnt wanna click i have no idea what to do

where is this ethernet cable coming from? if its directly from a cable modem, most of them need to be reset before recognizing a new MAC address (piece of hardware).

if its from a router, check your IP address and make sure its valid.

Its coming from the router but its like it wont even reconginize the ethernet

your network card is probably disabled in device manager. go there and check out your NIC.

and no ethernet light? try disabling it, and reenabling it.

also try swapping end of the ethernet cable.

if that doesnt work, reboot, and keep an eye on the link light, to see if it ever lights up during the boot process.

if it never lights up, you have a bad NIC.
