Building a new PC. Have a 7800X3D CPU. Everything is compatible except for the part that I need to update the BIOS before I install the CPU because out of the box the B650 is not compatible with the new X3D CPUs. So I did exactly what the internet and MSI said to. Connect only the PSU to the motherboard. Use a USB to flash the BIOS using the rear slot for such. First attempt looked solid until the light stuck on after flashing for a while. Since I know it's supposed to flash for around 5 minutes then stop I knew it failed. 2nd attempt was similar except I used a different USB stick and it just flashed forever until I cut it off after 30 minutes. I have no clue what to do. I can't get in to the BIOS to update it without a CPU in the socket on the MB. And considering the board doesn't read X3Ds without a BIOS update I can't do that. Or otherwise I'd throw the CPU in there for an hour until I could update it with a USB drive through the BIOS menu. Any ideas or suggestions? I feel like after 5 hours of doing [redacted] I've done everything and am out of ideas.
