I have recently bought a 144Hz monitor but I can't get more than 60 hz on it. I have tried using both dual dvi and hdmi cabels and it still doesn't work I can't change in the windows settings to more than 60 hz in the windows settings, And when I try to change in the nvidia control panel by using a custom resolution my screen turns black and then it says "no signal"

My specs:

Graphics card: Gt 1030 gigabyte
Proccesor: i5 3.20hz
Monitor: Acer 24" LED Predator GN246HLB

Any ideas how to fix this?

hdmi only does 120hz and that depends on what version of hdmi your card outputs.
from what i read, the gt 1030's dvi is single channel regardless that it supports connecting a dual channel. single channel wont support 144 hz.

may not be possible. what is the model number of your graphics card?

Check the settings on the monitor:

Use the menu button to bring up information in the OSD to see the output.

One thing I see interesting in the manual is that the monitor only appears to support 144hz at 1920x1080 resolution on DVI.

That being said, N3rdR4ge is correct, your video card only supports single link, so no 144hz. You will need a new card.

You could probably get 120hz with DisplayPort from your 1030, but you would need a monitor with DisplayPort (1.4x) support.

Err, I use HDMI 2 and I get 1080p @ 144Hz on my Acer, DVI gives me 120Hz.

I suspect you are thinking of the older 1x version of the standard.

According to tech reviews, it can run games like Counter Strike at 100fps, so it should be running a higher fps, at least for desktop use.

Are you certain it isnt locked to 60 by a setting in the software suite?? Someone was having similar issues with another NVidea based card recently, and it turned out THAT was the cause. I would go back through the settings carefully , and look for a "FPS Target" setting.

The HDMI port on that particular monitor is limited to 60 Hz at 1080p over HDMI.

Is it?? There is nothing in the monitor manual saying that, in fact the only restriction it shows is that you need 1080p to get 144Hz, all other modes are 75Hz or less.

I have even checked a few reviews, and none of them mention a limitation on HDMI (they werent very impressed with it though).

I will take your word for it, but my Acer XZ271 DOES run 144Hz on HDMI and DVI.
