Hello

Recently I've just made a new PC and decided to keep some parts from my old one.
It was a Compaq Presario CQ5210Y desktop PC. The only thing I kept was the case because my motherboard, a Gigabyte H110M-A would fit.
I got all the everything in place and go to turn it on and I can't get it on.
I think it's because the front panel cord doesn't really fit but I need a second opinion.

Solution
Oh okay so that CPU is fine.

Take a screwdriver and touch both posts where the power s/w header should be and see if it starts. The power button on your oem case might not work with a regular board.

The CPU I have is an Intel i3
I'm not really sure how to check if it's kaby lake like you say but I can't even get the computer to start. Most of the parts are brand new

If the cable from the on switch doesn't reach the motherboard you got a real problem. You might need to cut the cable and splice in more cable to make the plug reach the motherboard.

I know your trying to update your system on the cheap but you may be better off to buy yourself a new case & Power supply and get away from the proprietary issues.
