[SOLVED] Cant get out of BIOS

Hello,

I bought a used GTX 1070,
but my BIOS cant detect any GPU, and i cant get out of the BIOS?

If i swap back to my old GPU it works just fine.

I´ve tried to use "load optimaized defaults" in the BIOS , nothing happens.

i´ve tried to clear memory by removing the battery on the motherboard, nothing happens.

However the fans on the GPU works?

Does that mean my GPU is dead?

I think the symptoms "might" mean it's a dead card....but I would try it in another machine.

Could you list your system components (motherboard, PSU, old GPU, etc)?

 

[Does it work]

Can your psu power a 1070 properly? Does it have the output, sufficient pins? Does the little blue led on the card light up saying it is getting what it needs to work? If you answered no to these questions, try a better psu. If the psu is sufficient, its possible its dead.

The risks of used parts are that some knobs sell dead devices, you pay for trash.

I am not familiar with ESP PSUs. Are you sure that is the PSU model #?
A reliable 500W PSU is enough for a GTX 1070...but a cheap 750W might not be able to deliver the power required for it to work.

Make sure the GPU is seated correctly on the PCI-e slot.
Check that power from the PSU is connected properly.
Some GTX 1070 require 8-pin power and some others both 6-pin and 8-pin power from the PSU.


Also, it could be that you got a dead GPU unit.

Thanks for all the inputs.

The problem was that i needed an adapter from (2 pin 6 +2 to 1 8 pin) to supply enough power
