This is my first build. Tried putting together a external build yesterday and everything seemed to go fine. Putting the CPU cooler on was a little tricky, but I got it to work. Got the CPU in no problem, then got the cooler on after some time, put RAM in no problem(kind of finicky though), then finally got the GPU in no problem as well. Plugged everything into the PSU and turned on my external build. The power light on the MOBO stayed on and did not indicate any problems, the the DRAM/DIMM LED light blinked at start up but did not stay on, indicating no error with the RAm( I think). The fan on the CPU cooler spun up perfectly, as well as the fans on the GPU. I was using the newegg how to build a computer video. I just don't know what could be wrong. No post beep and no video when i run an HDMI cable from the GPU to the monitor. I'm afraid it could be the CPU due to either it being DOA or all the complications I had trying to put the cooler on. Im afraid to take off the cooler because of the thermal compound on it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
