Alright so, i have a TP-LINK router and i use it for my PS4 with LAN cable. I have looked thru many tutorials but i still can't get ride of NAT Type 3 when connecting to internet.

I'm hoping for Type 2
Model is TL-MR3420
i only use it for PS4 and from time to time for PC

I assume you have DSL or cable or something. Do you have another box before the TP-link? What is that box and how do you have it setup?

I assume you tried enabling UPnP and it didn't help, so you decided to open the ports manually.

Did you set your PS4 to a static IP address? Is the static IP address outside the range of the DHCP addresses on the TP-link?

Yeah tried to open ports but it didn't wo so i reset everything. I tried to do that static IP address but it didn't work i think

This is super important. If there is another box before your router you might have to change settings on both boxes. I don't know your living situation, but if that box belongs to someone else (parents?) you may to work with them to get this working.

Thats my first box i have owned.

How do you get your internet? If it's cable, then a coax line comes into your house (apartment?) and there is a box that connects to the cable to convert it to ethernet. Same thing with DSL. A phone lines comes in somewhere and then there is a box that converts the DSL to ethernet. Unless you live in an apartment that has free internet and there just a jack on the wall.

Please be specific (brand and model number) ... you can't go forward until I am sure there is no other box preventing you from port forwarding.

I use 4G modem. I plug it into the router and thats all.

Ok ... some 4G modems have a firewall built in, so you might have a situation where the modem is dropping the packets you want before they even get to your TP Link. If this is the case you can change settings on your TP Link all day and will never get a PS4 NAT Type 2.

alright so is there some page that gives step by step tutuorial how to chacne those tp link settings to get NAT 2. I might have done something wrong before.

ah screw it. I can't be bothered to set it up. Struggling with that static ip.
