Cant get to start menu to run restore disk

Hello,
My internet company removed a virus along with some of my windows files now i can run my restore disk because i cant open up windows it starts to open but wont go past the windows 7 logo so i am stuck mike8917@yahoo.com

Hello, would be easy if i could just run the restore disks it does the same in all safemodes 🙁

do not post your email in a forum for safety reasons. I also cannot imagine why your internet company would be removing a virus? if they did they did it wrong and should fix it. but its more likely the virus did this.

Since you said you can get into safemode, install and update malwarebytes antimalware and run a scan, and remove anything it finds. Then reboot into safemode and type cmd in the search box and press enter. in the window that opens type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes. after it finishes type "chkdsk /r" after that finishes try a normal boot.

If this does not work, or you just want to reinstall, what brand.of computer do you have? if you have a real system restore or windows 7 disk you would boot off of it, not the harddrive. in the BIOS select boot options and put the CD first. if this was a prebiilt PC its also very likely there is a button you can press during boot up before windows that will let you do a factory restore.
