Cant get wireless gateway page to load?

For whatever reason I cant get the comcast gateway address10.0.0.1 to load anymore?
I used to be able to get on there no problem?
Seems like ever since i got this all in one SMCD3GNV modem/router i have only been able to get that gateway to load one time before?(used to have separate modem and a netegear wireless router and there was never a issue)
Comcast was a joke with this problem as i just got off the phone with one of their "TECH's" and after a half hour still have not resolved this!

I did a bit of research and i am seeing that i should go back to the separate modem and router and dump this comcast gateway!
read many negative things about the ones comcast supplies
I would be willing to bet it is the cause of why my gateway page wont load now.
all i know is i never had a issue getting onto my netgear page.
