Hi all, there's a clicking noise coming out of my PC and I'm not able to identify it. Here's a list of things I've done in the past couple of days.

  • Got a new Motherboard.
    Got a new CPU.
Got a new SSD to replace the only HDD that I had.
The guys who assembled my PC did some cable management.

It seems like the noise is coming out of the power source.
Here's the noise I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acrXtZKvkwc

Okay now here's the weird part that got me thinking: I do not hear this noise when I'm playing games. I mean, I'm certain that the clicking noise is not there when I'm in a game. This could be due to fans spinning at a higher speed but I don't really know. I'd appreciate any help and/or info about how to solve this situation I'm having. Thank you very much.

Edit: The more I play games, the more I think this issue is fan-related. No idea on how to identify which one and fix it though.

Solution
Hi there Boraximus,

It sounds more like a fan hitting a wire(or something like that). 😀
Well, I believe you just need to open up the computer case, as long as this will not void the warranty, and try to locate where the sound comes from.

I moved some wires around and I haven't heard the noise since the morning. Can't believe the solution was this simple. Thank you very much!
