Hi guys,

I've just put together my new pc and i'm now having trouble trying to install windows7 64 bit from a usb boot. When i boot from the usb key it hangs on the starting windows screen. It takes no longer than 1 minute to get there and then it seems like the computer isn't responding.

I've followed a number of threads about how to create a usb boot and have tried different ways in case this was the issue.

Hope you can help, Skyrim is waiting for me!

specs;
Zotac z68itx-a

gskill 8gig
1333mhz
msi gtx560 ti

Sure am bro. Could it be the 64 bit ISO, is there anyway to install windows 32 bit an then upgrade to 64 bit with the iso on the HD?

Yes, in the BIOS.

I've just made that change and went to boot from usb again, this time it appears to have frozen faster with the windows logo only partially appearing on the screen before it hangs.

I'll let is sit for a bit in case its installing but it doesn't look like it.

Cheers for your suggestions so far.

I might go try buying a new usb stick as I've read that some aren't compatible to boot with.

Sometimes it takes up to 25min to load and past that frozen "screen". So hold tight and maybe it will go through.

Also, sometimes helps when u unplug the other drives.

Yes its 2 sticks, here is the link;

I came home from office works and its been sitting on the screen since your post around 20 mins ago.

I'm going to try the new usb stick and see if that makes any difference 😉

Thanks for helping dude! I appreciate it.

Dude you are a legend! I pulled one of the sticks out and DADA its now installing windows.

How did you figure that out bro, i would of never troubleshooted the ram, originally when i was writing the specs of the machine i almost left the ram out!

Thanks heaps mate you have saved me another long night of trouble shooting till 3 am in the morning!
