Can't Install Drivers for New GeForce GTX 650 Card

Hello, I recently purchased a new graphics card (PNY XLR8: nVIDIA GeForce GTX 650) and I've finished putting the hardware into my PC. My primary issue at this point is that, whenever I open the PNY Installation CD Wizard, it doesn't recognize the graphics adapter ("Not Found"). Because of this, I am unable to install the proper Drivers and enjoy my neat little card. If you can, please post a helpful response! I've tried a lot of things, but maybe one of you knows the answer!

Just had the EXACT same issue... yes, the video card does have the extra power... Yey! it only requires one (the previous 9800GTX required two)... The problem is that you need Windows 7 or newer to get the drivers from Windows update... the CD is useless. Click uninstall, reboot, and let the system find the drivers automatically and it will detect it correctly... you'll know if Windows update starts downloading about 275 MB...

Hehe. :) The GTX 650 doesn't require additional power.

Have you tried to pulling it out and then sticking it in again? Are the fans in the card working? In any case, try to download the latest driver software from the Nvidia website. :)

Yep, I have the card. :) It is a good card, but not the best one that doesn't require auxiliary power. The HD 7750 is better. :lol: Off-topic chatter. :lol:

I do not have an answer for the first question, I actually have the same problem I think.
I just installed the geforce gtx 650 ti, I want to install the driver but I have this error message:
This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware
?!
I tried several other drivers after but without success.
I am trying to format my pc and try to start from zero.
Is it possible that the graphics card is not compatible with my pc?
Yesterday I installed another card, geforce gt 640, it worked but I did not like the performance so I changed
I translate my text on google, sorry I speak french :)

Okay, so I've talked to the guys at Best Buy (I know, I'm sorry) and the father of a friend... The general consensus is I have a faulty graphics card slot / a faulty motherboard. Apparently I've a call with Dell to set up, but I'm glad you could all provide me with helpful ideas and possible solutions.

I am not sure what people where talking about, but it took me 10 minutes to find out that extra power supply is needed!
Power Input 1x 6 pin PCI-E Power

So, have you connected 6 pin PSU connector or not?
What PC you have, OEM or self build?
how strong is you power supply, can you provide model?

Same questions to you as well - GTX650 TI is even more power hungry!

My Power Supply isn't the problem - It's a Corsair 600w. The 6 pin PSU is just included with the card. I've tried the computer with it connected, but I honestly don't think it makes much difference; at least, that's what I've been told by everyone I've talked to (included the fellas above us.) Thank you though!

Before you throw away your PC, you need to check PCIE slot.
Go to any store with no restocking return policy, grab any other NVIDIA card and try to run it, I would recommend to try something without PSU port, so you can just plug in and test.

If it falls as before - yes you have problem with motherboard. I would not expect BestBuy smart answer, I seen them in action.

I don't see PCIE problems so often, actually I probably see something similar long time ago....

P.S. What is your PC model?h

I forget to ask and you did not mention - seems like you have Dell, if it was sold without video card, it has embedded one.

So if this is your case (I hate guessing, but I have no idea what you have), you have to uninstall old drivers, before restarting PC, go to Device Manager and disable video chip there, next shutdown, insert your 650 and start installing drivers.

Have you done all this?

I have a Dell Inspiron 620. It did have an Intel HD Graphics card embedded as default, and no, I haven't tried uninstalling my drivers, restarting, reinserting the new card, and then attempting to re-install new drivers. I'll try that before I ship my PC away, but I did try another graphics card while being helped at Best Buy - a card they knew worked - and my PC still didn't recognize it. Thank you for your suggestion, hopefully it works! I know the guys at Best Buy just get baseline training and all the rest is learned through experience, so I'm not always sure their word is "best".
