Cant install minecraft mod with java

[Trix nova]

I have been trying to install shaders for minecraft and i have looked at many tutorials on youtube and followed all the steps but nothing works. i have downloaded the installer but when i actually go to install it it doesnt work. I have tried it with java se binary and 7-zip but neither work. Java opens a window looking like command prompt before instantly shutting down. 7-zip just opens a folder. If someone could help that would be great,

Are you installing the mod and java as an administrator?
