Can't install Nvidia Drivers for EVGA GeForce 6800 GS

It's an XP computer and suddenly I cannot Downgrade or Upgrade the Drivers. Even the DVD's default drivers refuse to install video drivers.

What can I do?

What happens when you try to install the drivers?

Have you found 197.xx drivers from guru for example and tried to install them?
195.45 is what I'm on I believe, as they seem the most stable for my setup.
