cant install Radeon 7970

Trying to install this graphics card but I just get a blackscreen. I have tried following other advice given to people with similar problems on these forums but nothing seems to work.

I have all of the requirements and have made sure the old graphics card is uninstalled first and i have tried booting up in safe mode using the onboard but as soon as i put the new graphics card in even the onboard wont work. I'm a noob and I dont know what else to try.

Hmmm. Can you try the card in another computer. Other than a faulty card it should be fine.

Faulty card was my first thought so I returned it and bought another... same result.

Unlikely that both were faulty

bios version ami 7.03
sm bios version 2.6

How do i know if i have the latest? Looked on manufacturers site and couldn't find anything

Wow. Support for that mobo is basically non-existent. If the picture that I saw was correct it looks ultra cheap as well. If it was mine I would replace the mobo with something better supported and a little heavier duty. Sorry man. That's all I've got.
