Can't install ryzen 1200 chipset

Installed Ryzen 1200 and B350 mobo. None of amd's chipset driver software detects the CPU (detected in bios) and don't have a DVD drive. Running windows 8.1 praying I don't have to get windows 10. I have been having all kinds of problems with the CPU such as internet sometimes going to limited until I unplug it. Programs which normally took up no respurces in the background randomly take up 25% of CPU power. Anybody?

What do you mean by 1200 chipset? The chipset is B350 and is on the motherboard, which mb is it? Did you install everything from the motherboard?

I don't have a DVD drive so I downloaded the latest bios and tried to get the AMD chipset drivers from the AMD website. Needless to say after letting the auto (and manual) installer go for a bit neither were able to detect that any part of my build was AMD

never update bios using windows, use usb flash.
did you install any drivers yet? I mean not necessarily AMD.
what motherboard is it?

I used the flash not windows. I have all my nvidia drivers for my gpu and any drivers from my previous install of windows. It is he b350 tomahawk from msi.

After letting the system get through some slowdowns e.g. The whol desktop freezes while only my mous can move everything appears to be going smoothly.
