I've just built a new sandy bridge build with the following:
CPU: i5 2500K (no overclocking yet)
motherboard: Asus p8p67 pro
memory: Crucial 8GB 1333 mhz
GPU: Geforce 460 GTX SE
Power supply: Crucial 650TX
SSD: crucial 128 GB (primary w/ windows 7)
HDD: 500 GB Western Digital
I've just tried installing SP1 and it's not working with the automatic Windows Update utility. I've gone ahead and taken a look at the event logs and I see that there are at least 100 warning messages like as follows:
********************************
A corrected hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
Error Type: Internal parity error
Processor ID: 4
The details view of this entry contains further information.
********************************
I've updated the BIOS on my Motherboard, I've ran a memory check (memtest85+) that didn't result in any errors. However I haven't had any luck installing SP1 and after 3 failed attempts.
Only been using the computer for 2 days.
