cant install windows 7, screen goes black with only mouse cursor on screen after loading files and window logo appearing

I had a family member of my'n bring over there laptop telling me there laptop wont boot to windows. I tried re installing windows 7 and got the problem mentioned above. Thinking its the hardrive i put in a spare hardrive and seem to be getting the same problem.

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode, if it boots to Safe Mode OK, it's probably a driver problem or possibly Malware

when ever i tried to boot in safe mode the screen turned black and it would turn of

Might take the system disk, boot to it and try a system repair
