Hi guys, I received my SSD today as I want to give my HP 15 beats special edition laptop an upgrade. So I fitted it in but could not get into the bios due to a password previously set so I called up HP and they were useless tbh so I carried on looking myself as they didn't know what to do.
I decided to strip it down more to get to the CMOS battery and leave it out for a while and it worked as the bios has reset so I now can get into the bios to change the boot priority. Which I have done but the laptop does not seem to be picking up the USB even though I have just set another laptop up with the USB on windows 10.
The HP guy on the phone tried saying the SSD might not be compatible with the laptop but I doubt that anyone knows the best way to get this SSD working as trying to get it fixed for when I go away tomorrow and will need to use it.
When I turn the laptop on it says no boot os found which I guess it would due to it being a new SSD but I think HP might have something in their system that will not let me set up via a USB as I have never had this issue before.
Would it be worth me cloning the HDD that was originally in the laptop on the SSD and see if that will allow it to boot in windows then doing a format using a windows 10 usb??
Any help appreciated...
