I just got a new hard drive, looking to install windows 10 from a usb on it. After selecting custom install it says "we couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load Driver". I put the storage driver for the PC on a Passport and hooked it up. Now when I select the driver it goes back to the Windows installation screen my new drive still isn't listed, only the Passport is. My only options are "Refresh" and "Load Driver".

How do I install Windows on the new drive?

The drive is a 1tb WD Black
PC is HP Pavilion 23-h024
Windows 10 HE is retail flash drive

Haven't seen this in a while, but I'm assuming you're connected via USB3?
If so, you shouldn't have any issues if connected to a USB2 port.

That being said, if you put the USB3 driver on a thumb drive etc, you should be able to load it. What driver are you attempting to load?

I was told I might need to download storage controller drivers for the HP so I got them off the HP support site. They didn't fix the problem so I assume they're unneeded. I don't know why the WD drive doesn't show up. Is it possibly incompatible with the hardware?
