Issue has been narrowed down to the drive. I'm replacing an old Hitachi drive with this larger, more than 2x faster hard drive.

The windows boot media I made works fine on the Hitachi drive, I used the windows installation tool to delete and reinstall windows on it to confirm the new drive is at fault.

When installing to the Western digital drive there's an endless installation loop after the finishing and restart step. It goes right back to the installation language selector. What's more is the drive is completely gone from the boot menu.

When using the windows installer to peek on the drive I see the basic windows file and some weird 500mb called drive X (boot)

These are not issues I experience with my old drive and I have no idea what to do.

I'm using an ASRock UEFI h97m motherboard.

It's a gaming PC, cross-play games that were previously Xbox Exclusives have problems on both SDDS and being installed on secondary drives.

Problem was fixed by downloaded Gparted, redoing the partition tables and using it to format the drive.
