I tried installing Windows XP SP2 after making a bootable usb using Win2Flash. It boots to the setup and starts loading but after that, i get a blue screen saying IO1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED. Please help me fix this, first time i ever encountered this error.

Thanks.

what make of cpu and motherboard are your trying to install Windows XP on ?
Are you using a black port (USB2 or blue port USB3 to boot with it?

CaptainCharisma, Actually windows XP can be loaded (I use Rufus) and if the bios permits to boot from Usb it can install it.

I have a Core2Duo E7200 and im not entirely sure of the mobo, in dxdiag it says "To be filled by OEM".
And im using a USB2.0 Port

Thanks for replying.

I tried that already but no luck 🙁

dxdiag will not have any relevant information and "to be filled by OEM" means it is not from a name brand computer like dell. knowing the make and model of your motherboard may help us though

Less than a year old, 250GB, works nicely.
Never really ran any tests since it never caused a problem.

First time for everything. I would run a test on it.
