can't install windows xp

now my laptop is can't install windows xp 64 bit . . .when i boot i get blue screen error .. i try different windows xp CD but still can't . . . however i can install windows 7 from CD . . only can't xp

I'm guessing that the first thing you will need is an XP64-bit driver for the SATA controller in your laptop. Good luck with that!

That assumes that your laptop is not so ancient that it has an IDE hard drive. If it is that old I would say the chances that it has a 64-bit processor are about 0.1%. If you are really worried about peformance you would be better off installing some variety of Linux. It will work just fine and will support the simple tasks that you mention.

Of course, a few details of the laptop in question would probably elicit more meaningful answers.

sorry man , i don't understand , how i can install with SATA driver ?
