I was updated my gpu drivers and the computer froze. When I restarted it showed that I had the new drivers, but now I can't open CCC. I have tried clicking it thru the bottom right of the computer where afterburner, volume control and all of the other icons are at. I have tried to right click the desktop and access it. I tried to install older drivers and it tells me I am up to date.
I'm thinking I might need to uninstall and reinstall it all over again, but I don't want to mess anything up. When I run the new drivers again like I'm trying to install for the first time it has an option to uninstall. If I choose this option will it go back to the old drivers or just uninstall everything and then I lose my display? It would seem odd that they would allow that to happen, but it doesn't clearly say anything like "uninstall and revert to previous drivers". It simply says uninstall the newer version.
I can open up amd raptr and it also says drivers are up to date. If I right click the desktop and try to open ccc there is just a circle that rotates by my cursor and then stops, but nothing happens. If I close the process "amd settings host application" and try to reopen it again by right clicking the desktop nothing happens, but the process does appear to reopen because it shows back up in task manager. I have restarted multiple times.
