Cant open GTA IV on steam

So i just bought myself GTA IV on steam. The download went just fine. After it was done downloading i tried to launch the game. A window appeared where I was requested to log into social club and i did so. I clicked play. I waited for the game to open, but nothing happened. I retried several times with no luck. I have no idea how to fix this. I looked it up on several forums and followed their instructions, but nothing helped. Have any of you expierenced this before? Do you know how to fix it? ( I tried to open up/update Microsoft games for windows marketplace but i could not even open it up without getting an error message)

Nevermind. I somehow solved it by downloading this: http://www.mediafire.com/download/16ear6v60je5ar5/xliveless-0.97b+NEW

I copied the files into the GTA IV game folder and then it all worked fine. This also worked for GTA EFLC.
