Can't open/save AutoCAD dwg's

My machine has just been upgraded to a windows 7 platform running AutoCAD 2007. I'm having real problems opening some autocad drawings and templates as well as saving them. The machine will just hang (not respond). It jolted itself out of this a couple of days ago but this morning it did the same thing again. We have several machine in the office with the same platform that work fine. The only difference with this machine is it does not refresh automatically in explorer. Could this be connected?

You can try to uninstall AutoCAD, and then try to re-install other editions

I have already tried to re-install AutoCAD as well as the repair option. The new machine is 64 bit and earlier versions would only be 32 bit wouldn't they. Also everyone else in the office uses 2009 so going back to an earlier package would mean a lot of downgrading drawing files in Trueview.
