cant open this file

i have some pictures on my laptop, after installing newest windows..i can not view them. they all have the same icon and response when trying to view them "we can't open this file" with the 2 mountains icon.

Might need special app to open that image file format, What the picture from? what file extension?

If it's a type of file (extension) that Windows doesn't recognize, you'll have to download a third party program/app to view your photos. As long as they're intact, you can use any free image viewing program to view them, just be sure to download from a safe & secure site.
