Can't Overclock i5 6600k past 3.9 GHZ with my Gigabyte GA-X150-PLUS WS

Hi, I can't seem to get my BIOS to let me overclock my i5 6600k past 3.9 GHz, I made a video showing the problem. Thanks, Andrew

Here are my specs:
- 1 DDR4 8 GB RAM
- 3 HDD
- GTX 1050 Ti FTW
- i5 6600k w/ corsair water cooler
- Gigabyte GA-X150-PLUS WS Motherboard
- 600 Watt PSU by EVGA

I think your stuck at 3.9ghz due to the fact Intel locked there other 1151 socket Skylake motherboards besides the Z170 for overclocking.

I think your stuck at 3.9ghz due to the fact Intel locked there other 1151 socket Skylake motherboards besides the Z170 for overclocking.

If I switch to a Z170 Motherboard, will I have to reinstall my operating system?

Yes, and the drivers. You could also use a Z270 motherboard as the Kabylake boards also support Skylake CPU's.
