Hello,
I've attempted to overclock my card via a few diff guides but nothing seems to work. The drivers crash too often. This is my card: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/gigabyte-gigabyte-radeon-hd-7970-3gb-gddr5-pci-e-video-card-gv-r797oc-3gd-gv-r797oc-3gd/10214787.aspx

- I have attempted to overclock it using CCC, however even increasing to 1125/1505 causes crashes. Playing around with increasing power control settings didn't work, tried 3% increments up to 15%.
- I attempted the same thing using MSI Afterburner however the same result... checked "unlock voltages" too.
- I've re-installed the drivers but the same issue prevailed. Using the newest beta ones people are saying great things about.

What's the solution here? Revert to old drivers? Is the problem that my voltages still locked? I haven't done anything manually to unlock them as the guides I read didn't mention such a step.

Are you sure about that?

Part numbers are the same. What's going on here? Best Buy so I can return it no prob =)

EDIT: Damn, reading they recently have started locking the card. And no mention of it with the card? I mean who buys a card with that cooling solution if they don't plan to OC? Gigabyte just lost a customer for life heh.

I totally agree with you on that Cooling.

When I saw those 3 Fans, I was amazed.
I thought that this would be the best Overclocker.
But then I knew about Voltage Lock, And then knew why were they cheaper than any Other brand.
I too refuse Gigabyte GPUs now.
