Can't overclock my PIII700

I am having difficulties overclocking my new PIII700 on my MSI BX Master mainboard. I was able to overclock the chip on a Soyo board to 933MHz easily... but it won't go over the default speed on my BX Master! The symptom is this... it boots up until it checks for base and extended memory and it freezes up. One would think that the memory isn't PC133, but it is and it's good... real good and I've tested them at 150MHz myself. I was able to overclock a PIII450 to 600 (133MHz fsb) so I don't know what the problem is. No other peripherals besides the video card is installed at this point so it has nothing to do with anything else... and I know the video cards I've tried are not ALL bad cause they work on the other boards at that speed. Please please please someone help me figure out what to do... hopefully some of you BX Master owners can solve this mystery. Thanks.

I've have a PIII 700 and BXMaster as well. I've been able to hit 933Mhz, but the system would become unstable. I'm sure it has to be my memory (older PC100). Right now though I run stable at 854MHz (FSB at 122). Have you tried lower FSB settings? Also, have you looked at the D-Leds on your motherboard when it locks? They give a good indication of the problem. How about moving the memory to a different bank?

My guess is that it's the memory... I geuss that the reliability of memory varies from 1 brand of motherboard to another... can't back this up though. Just some thoughts.

Which stepping is your PIII700? Is it a slot1 or the fcpga kind on a slotket? Mine is slot1 cB0 stepping and I would like to find someone out there with this same exact combination. I've tried other fsb settings but none of them work either. I've tried the chip on another motherboard and it went past 933MHz easily. I also tested the memory I have several times in other systems and I also had the memory running just fine at 133MHz fsb (cas2) on this motherboard in the past so I know it's not the memory. I've my infineon memory and my mosel vitelic ones which are all PC133 tested at cas2 so there's nothing I can do there. The LED lights stop at 0101 (or 1010 depending on how you look at it) which is "testing base and extended memory". Can you tell me what settings you have changed in the BIOS (stuff that is either manual or isn't default) so I can try to match those settings off you? I wouldn't be surprised if it's just some setting in the BIOS, but at this point it feels like there's something wrong with the board. But wouldn't that be extremely unlikely considering I've overclocked a PIII450 to 133MHz fsb before on this very board? Thanks for the response.
