I am having trouble overclocking with the B85-G43 MSI mobo. Anybody know why?

Specs on my PC:
Intel Pentium G3258
Stock cooler
MSI B85-G43 gaming motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
MSI Twin Frozr ii GTX 560 TI/OC

You can't overclock your cpu because of your motherboard's chipset, the B85 chipset is a budget and business minded chipset that doesn't support overclocking. For future reference, at least with current Intel motherboards, only the Zxx chipsets will support overclocking. Just be careful if you choose to upgrade your motherboard that you get the right socket type. I personally have an ASUS Sabertooth Z77 motherboard as my daily driver, it's a really solid choice if you're looking for a new one, but a bit impractical considering the board runs around $250 and doesn't support your cpu. They make a Z97 version that would support your cpu, but it costs about the same, if I were you I would try searching around for a cheap Z87 or Z97 motherboard on eBay or Craigslist. Good Luck!
