Cant paste directly from Chrome into Word!!!

Hello

I have been having an issue with not being able to paste from Chrome to Word.

I can copy the image, but I need to paste special, and hit bitmap, every time I want to paste an image. If I press Control + V, a small empty square appears in the form of a text box.

probably not related but recently i can't even paste into word from word. It lets me copy but as soon as I select paste word crashes and then reloads itself. I thought I lost a 1500 word document last night when I tried to copy a cover document across before I had saved the file.

I thought it was just something to do with saving to onedrive but it seems to do it with files saved on hdd too.

Yours is a new bug:

Microsoft’s latest update to Office 2016 (10.0.6828.1019) appears to have introduced a bug where simply copying and pasting an image from most web browsers into a Word document causes Word to crash out or display an error message. This affects the “Keep Source Formatting” paste option.

After repeating this test on multiple computers running Word 2016 (part of Office 365), I found one that initially let me paste fine. After comparing add-ins and other potential issues with a computer that is affected, it turned out to be the computer running version 10.0.6828.1016. After multiple copy & paste attempts from various browsers, it did not show any issue, such as copying the Myce logo above:
