I can't choose a chip thats going to overclock. I am not givent that choice at the place I need to buy from So ...going with a higher clock is logical?

I'd like a single core Opteron and the 148 maybe... see what are my odds at getting a good overclocker when I can't hand pick? Its a total crap shoot.

I'd like to see 3Ghz without water cooling (yet) anyway.

Still like to save that approximate $50.00 though...

Suggestions?

I'm buying tonight or tommorow.

fyi... I can run 2750 on water using an Opty 175 and 4x 512MB DDR.

Actually going with a dual core now that I'm reading they arent as bad with games anymore.

A 170.
