Can't ping or update ethernet adapter

Solution
Just running the ipconfig does nothing, it just tells you what the IP address on the computer is along with the gateway, and some other info. You need to actually look at the IP info it gives you and see if it's the right one for your setup. It should match the IP of the gateway aside from the last 3 numbers and the gateway should be the IP of your Comcast device. You said you can ping the gateway IP, is that from this computer? Did you try rebooting the router and model?
Need more details about the issue, system brand/model, internet connection type, is the driver actually installed and showing in Device Manager with no errors? If you do an ipconfig command are you seeing the correct IP for your setup and is the gateway the router you are using? Can you logon to the router config page? Try rebooting the modem and router?

Thank you for replying:

Dell XPS 27 running Windows 10.
Fiber Cable via Xfinity (Blast).
Running ipconfig doesn't appear to do anything. It just flashes a window and disappears.
I can logon to the Comcast Bridge and I can see all attached devices. They are my PC, Netgear router used as a wifi access point, and DTV. All devices connected via the AP have no issues.
I can ping the Comcast bridge at 10.0.0.1.
The Microsoft Broadcom ethernet adapter in Device manager shows to be running properly.
I attempted to update to see if an update was available but the update hung (no DNS server).

If you need more information please ask.

You need to open a command prompt window then run the ipconfig command. Are you connecting with a cable? Have link lights on the network card? Did this work at some point? Is the Comcast device a modem or a modem/router combo? Do you have NAT and DHCP turned off on the Netgear router if you are connecting through that?

Hello:

The Comcast device is combo router and modem. The Dell is connected by cable to the Comcast Bridge into one of 4 ports. The Netgear is connected to the 2nd of the four ports. The Dell does not connect in any way to the router, only the Comcast Bridge. I ran the ipconfig comd but I cannot tell if it made any difference. The network card is not visible to me so I don't know if it has any lights or not. This is essentially a 27 inch tablet. I cannot see inside without a major dissasembly. I am not sure when the problem started.

Thanks
