So it started two days ago when cleaning my PC files due to some Premiere issues. That was fixed.

I had downloaded some program similar to CCleaner and don't remember it because I uninstalled it yesterday. So what happens when I start the launcher, it's fine. The second I hit play for the games, my PC freezes and I can't do anything (tried) but hit the power button. So of course I now get kernel-system 41 errors - checked there too.

So I've narrowed it down........
I can play Steam games with mega graphics so it's not the new card I have and it's not the mobo.

The three games I can't launch are ones with actual launchers.
Planetside 2 - Daybreak Launcher
Overwatch - Battlenet Launcher
Battlefield 1/4 - Origin Launcher

What I have tried:

Uninstalled and reinstalled all three games/launchers.
Made sure they were on compatibility.
I've shut down the firewall. Nope.
Removed Avast. Nope.
Installed Comodo. Nope.
Three recovery dates. Nope.
CCleaner. Cleaned.
Memory Test. Nope.

I have tried these as suggested:

Also check that you have the latest drivers for your video card.

One thing I did notice when downloading - the games took longer than normal and on two of them, the modem took a dump. I have done a speed test and it appears fine.

I have a new card as of November. My system:

AMD FX(tm)-8120 8-Core Processor 3.11GHz
CROSSHAIR V FORMULA
Ripjaws 16GB of RAM
MSI Radeon RX 480 GAMING X 4G
3 x Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
1 x Crucial M4 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT256M4SSD2BAA
1 x Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold - 800W Power Supply
Cooler: ZALMAN CNPS11X Extreme
Case: AZZA Solano 1000 Black Japanese SECC

Solution
Make sure you have a recent version of Internet Explorer installed even if you don't use it at all.
Quote an amount of game launchers use part of the engine.
Also check your internet options on control panel. As the launchers use stuff from the IE, they also use the settings configured there.

Seems that ccleaner ish program messed with some of the registery entry's and files off the programs. I advice you reinstall the games + launcher and see what happens. Otherwise you might be having to look at a full windows reinstall. Programs that can mess up your registery can have big consequences.

Stupid question
I can do a clean install having Windows 10 and I don't know the digital key... or do I have to have the Windows 8 disc with the key? That would suck because the one who last worked on it, kept the disc since it was theirs (they worked at Microsoft). I have Windows 7, but we went 8 due to the crash I had 12/15 when W10 forced on my PC. Win 7 wouldn't work at that time to boot my drive.

Is it this easy?
