Okay guys so I got my brand new GTX 970 yesterday and I can't play simple games in ultra or even high settings.
I got my custom PC made by someone the only thing I have done to it myself is change over the graphics cards yesterday. I'm fairly sure I set it up right and I installed the driver with it as well. I did uninstall the old driver from the other graphics card before installing the new one. This happened with my other graphics card it was a GTX 760 I should've been able to play in medium - high settings with that but I didn't I could only play in very low settings and get on average, about 15fps. I got a new card (the GTX 970) and it says the highest I can play is on very low and it's getting 20 fps. It's not my CPU or GPU temps because here are the temps while trying to play ARMA 3: http://prntscr.com/9sq23k and I also play in 1920x1080.
So guys what's going on? Should I just call a professional to come look at it or yeah? Thanks very much.

Well I use HDMI and yeah it's plugged in to my motherboard is it meant to be plugged into the GPU? I downloaded the latest version for the GTX 970 from Nvidia's website. I must admit I did try plug the hdmi cable into the GPU but there is a metal bit on my case that wont let me plug it in all the way.

That is what I was wondering it sounds like he's running off the CPU graphics instead of the GPU. Be sure you have the integrated graphics turned off in the BIOS and the 1st Graphic device is set to PCI-E Graphics or PEG. Be sure you have the monitor plugged into the VGA card and not the IO off the motherboard. Download the newest drivers for the GTX 970 off the Nvidia site. I play most games on ultra with my GTX 970, you should also be able to do so.

Thanks everyone, dayum I felt like a noob, but as I said I did try plug it into the GPU slot on my graphics card but it wouldn't fit due to the case being in the way. I have had to use the DVI slot with an extension. Thanks very much everyone.
