Can't Play TRI

I have TR I installed but I can't get it past the DOS/4GW screen.

I have and AMD Processor, a sould blaster live sound card, and Nvidia MX440
Video Card.

I've copied the 3dfx version of the TOMB program into the TOMBRAID folder.

When I first put in the game disk, I select "sound setup" and manually select
"Soundblaster," "220", "1," "5" for the card, port, DMA & IRQ.

Then I skip "test" and go on to "continue", "save settings," and "start game,"
and it always stops at the DOS/4GW (or whatever) screen.

Please can anyone help?

Your video card *cannot* run with the 3Dfx version of TOMB.EXE; you
MUST use the original TOMB.EXE as originally installed. You will get
groty graphics for sure. When you get it running in software mode, then
you can try out GliDOS and no more groty graphics.
