Can't plug power supply in?

I've tried several times to plug my power supply into the 24 Pin power connector, but the clip will not snap in. I tried, as suggested in another thread, to put something under it and push it in, but I still am afraid of breaking it if I force it in too hard. It is also very difficult to get the chord out once it is partially in. Is that normal?

Power Supply: Corsair CX500M
Motherboard: MSI B75A-G43 ATX

Check that the atx power cable clip is lines up on the right side of the mb connector. There a tab on one side of the connector.with some power supply atx cables you have to push open the clip to get it to slide and lock.

Thanks, but I don't see the tab on the side.

After much heeing and hawing and blood sweat and tears, I was able to pull the chord out. Upon inspecting it, I noticed that 1) There is no chord going into slot 20. I googled to see slot 20, and apparently it is optional, so perhaps that is why it is missing. And 2) There are two chords going into slot 13. Is that normal?

EDIT: I was finally able to get it in, but I still don't know the answer to either of the other two questions, but I guess it is no big deal. Thanks

Atx power supply sped changes ever few years. Look at tx power supply wiki to see the changes. Last spec is atx 2.03 and 2.04 for haswell power supply.
