Cant reach bios gateway sx2855

I recetnly got a tower from a friend and i was looking to clear it. i cant get the pc to boot from the usb key i have with windows 7 because the screen is blank until the windows screen comes up. I tried every FKey i could, reset the CMOS and took out the battery. Any advice?
