hi everyone! :)

im so frustated,
everything in my windows experience index is 7.9
except for my cpu!!! 🙁 its only at 7.8

ive got an i7 3820 and ive overclocked to 4.5ghz and still cant break that last decimal place to reach 7.9 overall

if anyone know or has suggestions feel free to comment :)

cheers!!!!

WEI is meaningless. My friends rig scores higher than mine

His Rig :- Phenom 2 X4 065, 8 GB DDR3, GTX 570

My Rig :- I7 950 @ 3.8 12 GB DDR3, 2 X GTX 570 SLI

I get much better performance than him in all games, So that proves WEI is crap!

yeah I know it's not an accurate benching measure,
and I do use those programs for proper testing, I just want a perfect 7.9 for the bragging rights haha :)

and ive got it for everything cept for this frustrating cpu! 7.8 is so frustrating cause its only 1 decimal place you know?

and im not game to OC above 4.75 for risk of damage. and nothing at 4.75 or bellow is doing it :\
and even with 8 core i7 2600 at 4.6ghz it still wont break the 7.8 mark :\

WEI senses your frustration and is secretly glad. If you continue to be frustrated it might lower your CPU score just for greater enjoyment.

your joking you need 5.6ghz just for a 7.9.... wow, that's ridiculous!
thanks for post and link btw :)
I'm spewin but now I know ill never reach 7.9, cus it would seem (unfortunately) that u need 2 cpus at 5.0ghz, or just as insanely 1 cpu, i7 2600 or higher, at 5.6ghz.....

seriously tho, 5.6ghz is crazy.
looks like ill have to settle for this 7.8 haha
cause I aint game to risk those kinda clock speeds just for a WEI score

but thanks again! :)

... 5.6ghz tho? seriously?... I quit.

how did you overclocked to 4.5 ghz I have a I7 3820 and asrock fatality professional... X79

set multiplier to 38
and set frequency to 120
and set vcore to 1.300 (to be safe)

you should have a stable overclock using these settings

1.300 should be a little more than enough to run at 4.5ghz so u can slowly lower it by .01 untill it becomes unstable then ull know which lower voltage u can use for stability but start with 1.300 vcore.

remember every cpu is different even if its the same model, so u may have to fiddle with the settings till u find a sweet spot, but those settings should work for you

Only overclocked will it hit 7.9 though. I did a build with the exact same mobo and CPUs for a customer at work and at stock, it got 7.8 with dual 6 core Xeons, 24 threads.

Strangley the WEI in Windows 8 moves up to 9.9 and a 2500K @4.5GHz that gets 7.8 in 7 gets 8.9 in Windows 8.

Look at you guys crying over your Windows Experience index hitting 7.8 instead of 7.9.

Guess what my CPU hits? 2.2. Intel Pentium M ULV at 1.2GHz.
1.1GB DDR1 RAM: 4.5
Graphics and gaming graphics: 1.0 (got no windows 7 drivers for my 82855GM/GME chipset)
60GB HDD: 4.4

I'm not even complaining about those scores! 😀

I love my little 6 year old Dell Latitude X300 barely makes any heat ^_^

You have to OC it to 5 GHz to reach a 7.9 score at your processor!

I have it overclocked (barely) to 3.85 ghz. But, I am also running Windows 8, so maybe that's the difference (although I wouldn't think that it should be).

Processor : Mobile AMD Sempron 3500+ @ 1800 MHz
rating:2.6

You guys keep talking about your low ULV processor and mobile processor scores. But, no one expects all too much out of a laptop anyways. . . With few exceptions, people are not using those for gaming, or anything else. With that said, my laptop's CPU rates at 6.7

That's so weird, I get 7.6 out of my 6300 @ 4.5 Ghz. Not that I really care it's just odd the way w.e.i gets it's scores.
