Can't Reinstall Sound Card Driver

So I've recently moved my pc from one house to another, and upon hooking it up my Soundmax program kept telling me Soundmax failed, and I would have no audio, so I uninstalled Soundmax, but now my problem is that when I try to reinstall the driver from the Intel website, it keeps giving me this message: "The audio driver files does not support your computer hardware". The driver I'm using is the most recent for windows xp, and when i try to use slimdrivers, it says everything is up to date. I currently have no sound, so any help would be great, thanks.
