I can't remove my Heatsink because I found out that I accidentally used plaster instead of my thermal compound
so what now
but the computer is running fine but I have to change the Heatsink now

Solution
if you can get it off, you can polish the lid of the CPU back to better than factory new

i don't know what kind of "plaster" you used, but assuming it's a hard cement type, what you may do, and this will take some patience, take a single edge razor and try sawing, scraping, cutting your way between the cpu lid and the heatsink. Kind of like slipping a card back into a deck of cards, but sawing your way in. It'd be easier if you remove the cpu & heatsink from the mobo, then hitting it for 10-15 minutes at a time.
DO NOT TRY to leverage or pry the heatsink off,

If you've got a small triangular file, you can file some teeth onto the single edge razor to help in the "sawing" effect when pulling/pushing the razor blade

Once you've got it off, go online and order some wet/dry sanding media, starting with 200 grit, and up thru 800 or even 1000 grit paper, ie 200 grit, 400 grit, 600 grit and 800 grit. Keep a small bowl of water next to you, start by sanding with the 200 grit dry, then as you get all the residue of the plaster off, let's say by the time you get to the 400 grit paper, dip the paper in the water before sanding, same with the 600 and 800 grit papers. 1000 grit sanded wet, will start to give you a mirror finish,

hope that helps

i am dying to know, though, how did you accidently use, mix up and use plaster??

Solution

I afraid I just killed the processor in the process so I didn't continue to do it

luckily I didn't apply to my H61 board that going to sell
