Can't remove a new volume

Hi,

So a few days ago a new volume showed up, with about 460 mb of space of which 40,6 is available.

On it, theres 3 folders; @RECYCLE.BIN, Recovery and System Volume Information.

All 3 seems completely empty yet, Windows keep telling there "not enough disc space on drive" which is quite annoying considering the sound that comes with the warning..


I can't seem to get rid of it, delete it or format it.

I might have happened after Windows did a major update a few days ago, and it did ask me if it should delete an "old version of windows" but didnt get around to do it.

What is it and how do I make it go away?

Well first thing you should do it run "disk clean up" you can just search for it using the the spy glass icon in windows 10 by typing disk cleanup, from there you should be able to select what files to delete including old version of windows.

Do not change files on this small partition

A bug in the new version of windows 10 1803.sometimes Assignes drive letters to hidden partitions

With mbr partitions there is usually at least one hidden partition and with gpt partitioning several more
Note size is usually less than 1 GB unless it is a windows recovery partition

There are several guides to stop the partition being seen and remove its drive letter

Regarding windows old i believe it will be deleted after about a month, I received a offer from windows 10 1803 (storage sense) to remove windows.old shortly after the upgrade
