Hi, I recently bought a new laptop dell 9550, it cam with windows 10 home edition.
couldnt upgrade it to pro edition with different tools. Installed windows 7 ultimate then activate it then upgrade the windows to 10 but still the edition is home after the upgrade.
Repeated the same action but this time after i deactivated the original home edition came with the laptop but every time an getting home edition.
tried even pre activated version which have pro and other options. it didnt give me the choice and installed home edition. What missing here

I havent read too much on OEM activation for Windows 10. But if its anything like the Windows 8 one then the Product key is embedded in the system BIOS.
That key is what is automatically activate when you install Windows 10. I think you should be able to change to product key inside of Windows 10.
Under Update and Security in All Settings, there should be a tab for Activation and there should be an option for change Product Key.

Enter the key associated with the Pro version.
