I need to reset my brand new ASUS RP-AC68U Wireless Repeater, but the reset button is not accessible through the orifice located at the bottom of the unit (maybe it got unaligned during unit assembly).

I don't know how to open the case in a safe way in order to get access to the reset button.

Does anyone know how to open the case or remove the bottom cover safely?

Note: U.S. ASUS support has refused to help on the grounds that opening the case by the end user will void the warranty. On the other side, ASUS local support in Brazil says this product is not supported in my country.

I am really puzzled, so any help is welcomed!

ADDENDUM: I am trying to reset the repeater because I can't configure it.

According to the user manual, the Wi-Fi LEDs (which show the strength of Wi-Fi signals in the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz bands) should go solid one minute after powering up the unit.

Since they don't go solid (they keep blinking forever), the unit does not get ready do be configured. Thus, the two methods listed in the user manual for setting up the unit, "connecting through GUI" (suggested above) and "using WPS", cannot be applied.

As I live in Brazil, it's not feasible (due to the bureaucracy and costs involved) to send the unit to an U.S. based ASUS service center to be exchanged or repaired.

For this reason, my only hope to see this problem solved is by opening the case and resetting the unit. The point is that the ASUS RP-AC68U repeater uses a stylish case design (which can be seen at https://www.asus.com/Networking/RP-AC68U/) that really poses a problem for anyone trying to opening it.

Solution
With most routers providing you can log into it, and have or know the user name and password set, you can factory restore the router from the router menu.

If you have not changed the user name and pass word to login to the router you will find it on the underside of the router.
Connect your computer or a laptop with a ethernet cable directly to the ethernet ports of the router.

And input the IP in a web browser of the default gate way address, the router its self.

192.168.0.1 in most cases unless it has been configured to work with a diffirent IP pool by a user or admin.

There will be an option in the menus to reset the router to factory defaults.
