I'm in a bit of a predicament. So it started when I couldn't connect with my network. It sensed the ethernet cable but for some reason it can't connect to the network. Yes I've tried to update driver, Uninstall it and reinstall it. Made sure the modem was working. I've tried things all over the Internet can't seem to connect so. My last resort was to do a fresh install of windows 10 i have a USB for that. But it won't even let me do that. I don't really want to factory reset it unless I have to. It's an older hp with Windows 7 and I got the free upgrade. Maybe I'm dumb or something but I can't even seem to do a factory reset. When I boot it up I mash f11 but no hp help screen just seems to ignore that. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

Can you get into windows 10? Have you tried a reset? Did it give you any errors or you not sure where it is? (can find it on settings/update & security/recovery - reset this PC)

We can try to fix reset
right click start button
choose command prompt (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter
once its run, in same windows, copy/paste this in:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

SFC fixes system files, DISM fixes the iimage it uses to clean them, it also fixes the image a reset uses so once it finished, restart PC. Then try a reset if you still want one.

If you want to reinstall win 10 & can get into win 10 now - you can go to settings/update & security/recovery/advanced startup - press the restart PC button
this loads...

this loads advanced startup
choose use a device
put the USB into PC and select the win 10 installer

If you can't get into windows, we need to work out how to get you into the bios, what model HP is it?
