Can't Restore Windows 8

So i have an issue with my laptop. It originally came with Windows 7 when i bought it and i bought Windows 8 and upgraded after it came out. The other day i was restoring it and the charger came unplugged without me knowing and it went dead. Not it wont boot and when i go to the options and try to restore from disc it says the windows 8 disc is the wrong one. Any help would be appreciated!

You'll need to make a proper install media (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media ) and install on top of your existing Windows install. If you already backed up your files, you should just do a clean install (delete all partitions then make a new one) just in case.
