This problem JUST started happening yesterday. My computer was working just fine before I left for work and when I came back, this problem started happening. My computer decides to randomly not register properly when I'm typing or right clicking. It's pretty much the same proble this person was having: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2379436/type-click.html

So I will walk you through what I did before and after it started happening. before I left for working I was just watching YouTube videos, right clicking was working just fine as well as typing. I then closed my laptop and it went to sleep. When I came back I opened my laptop, it woke up, and I tried to resume watching videos and this is when I noticed that it wasn't working properly. I tried right clicking to open a new video and it wouldn't work. I tried right licking everywhere and it wouldn't work. I shut down by holding the power button(because the start menu wouldn't stay up whenever I scrolled over the restart, shut down, etc options). I don't recall if it worked for a little bit or what, but either way it started happening again and then I realized I also wasn't able to type while all of this was happening. (side note - when I was able to type to someone I think right before or maybe even during this happening, the light for my caps was on, but I was typing in lower case and when I tapped caps lock the light went off but I was typing in caps.)

So seeing that I had this problem again I sty stem restored several times since it started happening cause that seemed to have fixed it for at least a little bit every time but then it would start happening again. I was somewhat convinced that it was due to a windows update up until right before I made this poste when it started happening again and I didn't even let the computer start to do the update.

Also, I forgot to mention this, the computer DOES register that I am typing because I will error sounds when typing into certain things while other options are brought up when typing in a program like Skype. (but it will not actually type anything into the actual text space as I said)

I will tell you what I have done and what I have seen people suggest to do while looking up a fix:
system restore (can't get an earlier restor past the computer already having the update installed) - worked for a bit I thought but problem still happens apparently
cmd > sfc > scannow - showed nothing wrong
ran scans - nothing showed up

I have seen suggested that involve a clean boot and updating drivers or bios which I have not done yet, mostly because it's working at this exact moment and I don't want to break it again right away. I have also seen people constantly suggest that it's the mouse and keyboard, or the batteries for them or a setting for them. it is not. I am not holding down a key, they work just fine when the problem isn't happening.

If you must know the computer I am using it is a hp pavilion dv6-7138us, but I'm pretty damn sure that that is not the issue. I honest have no idea what is and I cannot figure it out for the life of me. So please, if you have a solution for this so that I don't have to continue to pull my hair out or just have to deal with it on and off, please help me. Thank you.

PS - because the problem is not happening now I will update you as to if or when it happens again.

Right-Click the start button, and click on "Device Manager" find your keyboard/mouse in the hardware list.

1. Click on the > arrow to extend the list.
2. Right-click on each one and select "properties".
3. Click on the "Driver" tab
4. Click on "Roll Back Driver" This will go back to the drivers the system was using before the update.

Hopefully this will help get you back up and running.

Nope, only one of them had that option. Didn't bother to do it either seeing as the other ones didn't have that option.

I still need an answer, it's not getting any better. In fact, it's annoying me even more. And I really don't see any sorta fix by sending it to a IT guy if no one where can give me an answer.

The only thing I've been doing to "solve" this is by constantly shutting off and turning on the computer until it doesn't happen anymore. Then I leave the computer on, without sleeping, because that messes it up again.
