I have an Asus H97M-plus motherboard and two pieces Corsair ValueSelect 8 GB DDR3-1600.
They're running standard at 1066. I've tried adjusting the timings etc but every time it wont activate the display and I have to reset the mobo again to get in the BIOS. It is supposed to support 1600. But I can's seem to figure it out. There is also no option to enable XMP, even though its shown in my main BIOS "display".

sure it does according to https://www.manualslib.com/manual/716727/Asus-H97m-Plus.html?page=41#manual
look at the image below, this should be where you change it , otherwise got to advance mode.

but I can tell you that I have a friend that has an 4590 on an H81 Board from ASUS and he has to run it as 1333 as 1600 xmp causes bsod during gaming. I just think those Hxxx series board from ASUS aren't as good as they would of like them to be.

I looked everywhere for the XMP option, under advanced etc etc. I have another computer with an Z97-A mobo and the options is there, running ram at 1600. Easily configured too. With this mobo I cant find anything.
I tried changing the timings and everything but evertime it wont start the display and i'l have to reset the mobo by hand again. Why would they have the XMP option there if there is no way to activate it at all? Its very confusing.
The fact that I cant run the ram on 1600 by adjusting the timings to the right ones confuses me too.
I'm lost :(

Thanks alot for the help btw!!

Also, when I put it to 100:133 and try to run it on 1333 it wont give me any display again. I have to replace the memory, then reset the mobo to get in the BIOS again everytime. On 1066 its all fine and boots without issues.
